Cricket Bats Buying Advice
A good cricket bat under ₹3,000 starts with the right ball type, size and wood. This page is buying advice. We add specific product picks only after reading the maker's own page.
Buying guide
- Ball type. Tennis-ball and leather-ball bats are built differently. Check that the bat is made for the ball you will use.
- Wood. Check the exact wood specification and intended ball type. Wood name alone does not establish weight, sweet spot, performance or value.
- Size. Use the maker's size chart for your height. A bat that is too heavy or too long makes timing harder.
Common questions
Kashmir willow or English willow for a beginner?
Choose the intended ball type, size and pickup first. Kashmir willow and English willow labels alone do not establish which bat will suit you. Read the exact model’s preparation and care instructions.
Do I need to knock in a new bat?
Many leather-ball bats need knocking-in before use, so follow the maker's instructions. Tennis-ball bats usually do not.
