Last reviewed:

Nine watches on this page list 50 m water resistance, and every one of them is a men's-only listing: six Titans and three Fastracks. Among the rest, 24 list 30 m and five give no figure. This page covers every watch in the catalogue listed under ₹2,000, from any brand. Bands are cumulative, so an Under N page also shows cheaper watches: the 9 from the Under ₹1,000 page (Sonata 6, Fastrack 3) are included, and 29 sit strictly inside this band (Titan 21, Fastrack 4, Timex 3, Casio 1). That makes 38 watches from five brands in all. Gender label, strap, case size and warranty wording are where they separate. SAT earns a commission if you buy through its Amazon links.

Who this page is for

Imagine you have already settled on a stainless steel strap. Ten watches here have one, and eight of them state a case under 40 mm: the Casio at 32 mm, the Sonata at 39.7, two Timex at 32 and 36.5, and four Titans at 30, 38, 38 and 39. The other two are the 52 mm Fastrack NL3121SM01 and a Titan Karishma with no case size stated.

Men and women

One watch in the strictly-in-band group carries both labels: the Casio Vintage A-158WA-1Q, a 32 mm digital with a stainless steel strap, listed under Men and under Women. Every other watch strictly in this band is single-gender. Counting the cheaper watches carried over, the page holds 17 men's-only, 16 women's-only and 5 unisex-listed watches (the Casio, three Fastracks and the Sonata SF Hexa), so 22 appear under Men and 21 under Women. Of the 29 strictly in band, 15 are men's-only and 13 women's-only.

Brands in this price range

Titan: 21 watches, 14 of which state a case size, from 25 to 48 mm. Fastrack: 7 (4 strictly in band, 3 carried over), with stated sizes from 40 to 55.8 mm. Sonata: 6, all carried over from the cheaper band, three of them on polyurethane straps. Timex: 3, all women's-only, at 28, 32 and 36.5 mm, each naming India as the origin. Casio: 1, a digital, and the only watch on the page that names China as the origin.

Buying advice

Settle on a case size before anything else, then check what the listing does not tell you. Sizes run from 25 to 55.8 mm, but eight watches state none, five state no water resistance and three Titan listings state no movement, so confirm those details on the Amazon page before ordering. Our how to choose a watch guide explains what each spec line means. If you would rather look at one maker, Titan watches under ₹2,000 narrows the list to its watches.

Common questions

Do any watches here have a polyurethane, plastic or silicone-rubber strap?

Yes, seven. Sonata has three on polyurethane (47.78, 48.8 and 52.15 mm), and Fastrack has two on plastic (40 and 55.8 mm) and two on silicone-rubber (50 and 47 mm). Six of the seven come from the cheaper band; only the Fastrack Trendies NL38040PP01 is strictly in this one.

Do all 38 watches state a quartz movement?

No. Thirty-five state quartz and none lists any other movement, but three Titan listings leave it blank: the Karishma Analog Champagne Dial Women's, the Ladies Neo Economy Analog White Dial Women's and the Neo IV Analog Black Dial Men's.

Do any listing titles mention a day and date display?

Two do, both Titans. The Lagan Chic is a women's-only 33 mm watch on a leather strap listed at 30 m. The Workwear is a men's-only 39 mm watch on a stainless steel strap with no water resistance stated.

What case materials do the listings name?

Twenty of the 38 name one: brass on 8, stainless steel on 6, plastic on 4 and metal on 2. The other 18 do not state a case material, so check the Amazon page if the case matters to you.
